Andre Hahn, sports policy spokesman for the Left Party in the German Bundestag, has criticized the extension of the partial lockdown for sport with unusually harsh words. Hahn criticized the fact that the word sport "not once" appeared in the resolutions of the federal and state governments on Wednesday. "So everything should obviously stay as it was decided on October 28," complained Hahn.

While professional sports may continue to take place without spectators to a limited extent, sports are prohibited in clubs, fitness studios and other sports and leisure facilities. Health and rehabilitation sports are also affected by this.

"I think this is completely inappropriate", said Hahn, especially since the sports clubs and facilities had "developed good hygiene concepts" and "made appropriate investments". Exercising is important for health and prevention, especially for children and young people.

Hahn was also disappointed by the government that his questions about knowledge about the corona development in sport had only been answered evasively. With the answer that there are no special surveys for top-class sport and that the federal states are responsible for grassroots and rehabilitation sport anyway, the government has shirked its responsibility, the opposition politician criticized.
