The crossover metal band System of a Down released two new songs in 2020 after 15 years: "Protect The Land" and "Genocidal Homanoidz" were released in early November. But first not with the new tracks, but with their old hit "Chop Suey!" (2001) they now set a record on on YouTube . The song was viewed on the video platform over a billion times.

System of a Down is one of the few bands of the early 2000s whose songs have a billion views on YouTube. Linkin Park, for example, can look forward to such a success. Both "Numb" (2003) and "In The End" (2001) cracked the billion mark. "Chop Suey!" was the first single from System of a Down from the second album "Toxicity". The song was released in August 2001 and earned the band their first Grammy nomination for "Best Metal Performance" in 2002.

With new songs they collect donations for Armenia

The two new songs "Protect The Land" and "Genocidal Humanoidz" have a serious background. The band wants to draw attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. With their music Serj Tankian (53), Daron Malakian (45), Shavarsh Odadjian (46) and John Dolmayan (47) want to collect donations for relief funds in Armenia.
