40 kg of material

Between June and September 2018, the photographer climbed the highest point in Europe four times to take these panoramic shots, which will serve as the basis for a virtual visit of the site. He and his two companions had to carry 40 kg of equipment to 4,809 meters above sea level.

This was not the first time this 52-year-old native of the country had set off on the ascent of Mont-Blanc. Already in 1987, the photographer had achieved the feat. This time around, he kept dozens of pictures in his backpack. Eight of them were sent to the jury for the panoramic photography competition. Six were rewarded, out of nearly 6,000 photos sent from 96 different countries.
