There has been a corona outbreak at the aircraft manufacturer Airbus in Hamburg. A total of 21 employees had tested positive for the corona virus, said Martin Helfrich, press spokesman for the health authority, on a dpa request. Quarantine was ordered for around 500 employees. The «Bild» newspaper had previously reported.

The cause of the cases is still being investigated, said Airbus. The health authorities can say in the middle of the week at the earliest whether it is a highly contagious mutation of the virus. With more than 12,000 employees, Airbus is Hamburg's largest industrial employer.
