Reports: Hong Kong publisher Jimmy Lai arrested on new allegations
According to media reports, the Hong Kong police have arrested prominent publisher and democracy activist Jimmy Lai on suspicion of helping to escape. Lai, who was already in custody on other allegations, was arrested on Tuesday inside Stanley Prison in the Chinese Special Administrative Region, the Apple Daily, which belongs to Lai's media company, reported on Wednesday. The police initially did not comment on the reports.
L st French Minister of Foreign Affairs called on Friday the supporters of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pachinian and opposition to "dialogue" to preserve "democracy" in this country shaken by a political crisis.
"Thehopes that dialogue can be established in this country by relying on the legitimacy of the President (Armen Sarkissian) and the Armenian Prime Minister (...) to lead to a more peaceful situation in a country which has known difficult times ", he declared during a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba.
"The elements of Armenian democracy must hold out," insisted the head of French diplomacy, worrying about the "risk of violence" in this country in view of the demonstrations that took place on Thursday.

He led a march of sympathizers of 20,000 people in the center of the capital, Yerevan, the opposition bringing together at least 10,000 people in front of Parliament.
Several hundred opposition supporters camped outside the Armenian parliament on Friday to demand the resignation of Nikol Pachinian.
