Organized by the radical "Men in Black" movement, which has staged several protests since December, it was the first protest since the Danish government decided this week to extend many of the restrictions in place against the virus.
The demonstration took place in general calm, according to the police.
But eight arrests were made, including for the use of fireworks by protesters and violent behavior, Copenhagen police said on Twitter.
