The Danish government on Wednesday announced the lifting of some of its restrictions against the coronavirus from Monday, but extended most of them until early April, despite criticism from the opposition who wants to reopen faster.

The country, which has been in semi-containment since the end of December, has sharply reduced the number of new cases in recent weeks but the so-called English variant, now clearly in the majority, continues to cause concern.
