The Team Panis-Racing driver from Le Mans, three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 (2010-2011-2012) and 3rd last year, awaits his eleventh edition of the event. He considers his postponement legitimate.

Julien Canal is no longer present in the Sarthe countryside. The Manceau of Team Panis Racing, 3rd last year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 and triple winner of the event (2010, 2011, 2012), reacted to the postponement of the event to the week- end of August 21-22.

"La Marseillaise, without an audience, it's sad"

This is a wise decision by the organization. We went through the same thing last year. The change will be climatic with 2-3 hours of night more. But if this can make it possible to welcome the public, it will be beneficial for the City of Le Mans and the agglomeration. We are living through complicated economic times. Last year, we had no parades and the Marseillaise, without an audience, it was sad, believes Julien Canal. The organization last year was bad for good for a lot of drivers in terms of budgets and sponsors. But when you step on the podium, in front of a mad crowd, it's extraordinary. We all want to experience this once in a lifetime. But the public's return is expected even if it is necessary to compartmentalize. This is essential at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. »

team manager, “The Paul Ricard race will take place the weekend after! “

Physically, it will be a little easier to prepare, he adds. But, I just noticed that the ELMS event in LMP2 Paul Ricard was the following weekend! The mechanics had better be well organized, it will not be easy but it gives us a boost to tell ourselves that we will perhaps be driving in front of the public! »
