CARDS. Covid-19: vaccination accelerated last week

CARDS. Covid-19: vaccination accelerated last week © Marc Roger / Ouest-France A dose of AstraZeneca vaccine is prepared in Nantes on March 7, in an ephemeral vaccination center open for the weekend end in the Erdre room. More than 3.7 million French people had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of March 6. The vaccination campaign, at the heart of the government's strategy to emerge from the health crisis, saw a marked acceleration last week.

Already involved

The French firefighters were already active in the vaccination campaign. They announced Tuesday, March 9 that they had vaccinated more than 200,000 people against Covid-19 in two days last Saturday and Sunday, for their first weekend of participation in the campaign, and said they were ready to continue. Our doctors and nurses vaccinated a little more than 200,000 people on Saturday and Sunday, or 40% of the total number of injections administered during this first weekend of mass vaccination, announced to AFP Grégory Allione, president of the National Federation of Firefighters of France (FNSPF).

Vaccination campaigns had also been carried out by firefighters, for example in the Breton islands .

On these operations, the firefighters organized the assembly, the preparation and the logistics but only the doctors and nurses of the firefighters practiced the injections themselves. Already used to the vaccination centers, the firefighters will therefore be able to intensify their participation. We ran the whole organization this weekend, but we couldn't inject the vaccine. What can now be done thanks to the decree, welcomes the communication service of the Marseille firefighter battalion.
