United Nations, 24 September (Reuters) - President of the Libyan Council of the Presidency announced Thursday the holding of an international conference in October in order to obtain support for the stability of the country, adding that Libya faces "important challenges", which could compromise the holding of the elections planned in December.

Mohamed Al Menfi, who spoke before the United Nations General Assembly, explained that the Conference would serve to provide "unified and consistent" international support and to restore a sense of direction and control in Libya concerning the future of country.
