Top 25 Cars from the 2018 Tri-Five Nationals!

Top 25 Cars from the 2018 Tri-Five Nationals! 2018's Danchuk Tri Five Nationals saw an insane amount of 1955, 1956, and 1957 Chevys in Bowling Green, KY this year -- well over 2,700 cars!Powered by

Here we are back at Cruisin' the Coast 2018, and the event is in full swing with live music at the venues and cars everywhere. With over 7,000 hot rods of every description rolling through town this place is alive with cars. The Mississippi weather has been a bit warmer than normal but it has been all sunshine and a nice soft breeze off the Gulf makes it quite pleasant. If you're a roadster guy Cruisin' the Coast is the place to be, particularly for those warm evenings rolling along the bay.

First Drive: 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0T AWD

First Drive: 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0T AWD Compact SUV slips, slides, and slithersThanks to AWD coupling, controlled braking, and some nifty torque vectoring voodoo, Hyundai's Traction (HTRAC) all-wheel-drive system corrects our wayward driving antics. Despite the assistance, the Santa Fe is a hoot to drive and impressive for a small SUV.

Today we spent time in several towns with a bulk of our time in Ocean Springs but we managed to hit towns on the way down to Bay St. Louis too. The stages were filled with live entertainment and all of the cruise sights were buzzing with activity, particularly Pass Christian this afternoon and early evening when their oh-so-popular burnout contest takes place. Crowds filled the area with a rather loud roar and a cloud of blue smoke rising from the center of the crowd. Of course safety personal were on hand to keep things safe.

Each town is filled with great restaurants (if you like sea food have we got an event for you!) We continued our search for recipients of the prestigious Painless Performance Products Top 100 for 2019 awards and we sure have a lot to choose from. For those not familiar with the format, every year we choose ten special cars from ten special events and they constitute our Top 100 for the year. The recognition for these car owners includes a cool windshield sticker and nicely embroidered jacket, all from our good friends at Painless Performance Productsthanks guys!

2018 Best Driver's Car: A Record-Breaking Year

2018 Best Driver's Car: A Record-Breaking Year More power. More performance. Only one winner.Less than an hour before, our resident pro driver, Randy Pobst, had flung the mighty McLaren 720S around WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 1 minute, 29.78 seconds—the fastest lap ever recorded in the history of our Best Driver's Car competition. Now, he's powering the 911 GT2 RS down the infamous Corkscrew, the echoes of the Porsche's barrel-chested bellow, so much like the iconic 935 racer, cascading through the surrounding hills.

Every day we find more reasons why this event should be on every hot rodders bucket list, and the list seems endless. The event takes place in no less than nine unique coastal towns so there is plenty to see and do. Cruisin' the Coast is simply a fun week.
