The New-Car and Concept Hits, Misses, and Revelations from 2018

The New-Car and Concept Hits, Misses, and Revelations from 2018 As usual, the 2018 auto shows in Detroit, Chicago, Geneva, New York, and Los Angeles got the staff to arguing about which new cars, trucks, SUVs, and concepts were hits, which were misses, and which had us scratching our heads. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights and lowlights of the past year.

A new generation luxury electric Revero , the first results of a partnership with Pininfarina and an all - electric Karma Vision concept will comprise Karma ’s Karma has teased the updated 2020 Revero , which will debut in Shanghai alongside two other new products. The company has teased the all

It's not often that we hear about a new vehicle from Karma Automotive, but it looks like the company has big plans for the Shanghai auto show. It will debut three products: a next-generation Revero, the first results of its partnership with Pininfarina, and an all-electric concept.

The new Karma Revero will go on sale in the second half of this year. It will be sold in the U.S., Canada, and Chile. Expect it to build off the original Revero, which was based on the ill-fated Fisker Karma plug-in.

2020 Cadillac XT6 First Look: Key Addition Doesn't Wear Flagship Mantle

2020 Cadillac XT6 First Look: Key Addition Doesn't Wear Flagship Mantle Cadillac is a brand under repair. Cynics paint a faded marque in existential peril. Optimists see light on the horizon. The crown jewel of the General Motors empire is pulling up stakes from its Manhattan headquarters to return to the safe confines of Detroit after its four-year experiment in the big city. This followed GM firing the brand's top executive just a few months prior. The entire lineup is under review, as the future of the current flagship CT6 sedan is in doubt when it ceases production at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in June after barely three years on sale.

Karma Automotive, the company formerly known as Fisker, ushers in a " new dawn." Its three latest cars make their debut at Auto Shanghai : a fully refreshed, BMW-engined Revero with more power and range than before, a Pininfarina-sculpted Revero coupe, and a high-tech all - electric roadster concept .

Karma will also introduce the high-performance Revero GTS at the LA Show. It'll allegedly be able to hit 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. The Revero GT is a luxury electric vehicle powered by dual electric motors that embodies Karma ’s goals of offering leading automotive design, technology, customization

Karma announced earlier this year that it formed a partnership with Italian design and engineering house Pininfarina. In Shanghai, we'll see the first fruits of this collaboration, Karma promises without elaborating further.

The California-based automaker will also debut an all-electric concept called the Karma Vision. This concept is previewed by the teaser image above, and Karma says it represents the company's long-term direction. It appears to be a low-riding vehicle, and judging from the full-width taillights, it likely takes on a design very different than what we're used to seeing from Karma.

Karma calls the product showcase the "New Dawn." "Our New Dawn represents Karma's short, medium, and long-term product direction," said Karma CEO Lance Zhou in a press release. "We have a solid product plan that spans the next decade and relationships with the right partners who are helping us accelerate technology and product development."

The Shanghai auto show runs April 16 through April 25.
