His First Hemi, a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, Is Back in the Hands of SS/AH Drag Racer Bucky Hess
Redemption is being sold by an owner, then being bought back and welcomed home again. That scenario describes this real-deal 1970 Hemi Challenger R/T. Bunker Hill, West Virginia, serves as hometown for "Hemi guy" Bucky Hess. For decades, Bucky has managed Bucky's Ltd., a thriving auto body repair shop. He has also stayed busy racing immaculate 1968 Hemi Barracuda Super Stock cars since the early 1990s. Bucky's signature psychedelic paint schemes, created by his artistic phenom son, Travis "Tuki" Hess, have made Bucky a fan favorite at dragstrips across the country.
Toyota has revealed an e-Racer concept at the Tokyo motor show, a two-seat, fun-to-drive car designed to re-emphasis the firm's belief that a future with autonomous cars will still have room for driving enthusiasts.
The car was unveiled on stage by Toyota boss Akio Toyota, but no details - including technical or performance - were given about it beyond its name. As such, it is believed to be a concept in the truest sense, pointing merely to the fact that electric vehicles can be fun.
Best Cars of the 2019 Frankfurt Auto Show
Plenty of eye candy on the showroom floorHyundai always seemed embarrassed by its past and its start as a mass producer of the Pony in North America. But 45 years after it showed the 1974 Pony concept coupe, it uses the Frankfurt auto show to unveil the 45 concept that pays homage to the Pony while signaling future design.
"All those years ago the car came along and replaced the horse," said Toyoda, "but today there are still people who own and race horses, and who have the most amazing, emotional relationships with their horses. For them, the horse remains irreplaceable.
"I believe it is the same for the car, even in an age of autonomy. People will continue to be at the centre of our technical advances even as e-mobilty is rolled out."
Although the concept appears to be a static prototype, visitors to the show are able to simulate driving it around a famous race circuit of their choosing with the aid of virtual reality glasses. Alongside the e-Racer concept, Toyota is also showcasing a 'virtual fitting function' that can take users' exact measurements to tailor a bespoke race suit.

Toyota's tryst with BMW has produced its best driver's car ever. The 2020 Toyota Supra is the first pure sports car from Toyota in more than a decade. Okay, there was the 86, but let's face it, everyone who drove one of those four seaters wanted another 100 horsepower. The Supra has two seats and an extra 130 ponies.
The e-Racer is joined on Toyota's show stand by the second-generation of the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell saloon, the i-Road electric scooter and a new two-seat EV designed for urban driving.
