Rare Garnet Red 1969 Chevrolet COPO Chevelle Gets a Whole New Life

Rare Garnet Red 1969 Chevrolet COPO Chevelle Gets a Whole New Life It’s believed that about 300 Chevelles went through Chevrolet’s COPO program in 1969, receiving 427ci engines and other high performance gear. Of those, an estimated 66 remain. So having one of these rarities in a collection is a landmark achievement. Collector Grady Burch has two: this recently restored Garnet Red example and an unrestored original Dusk Blue COPO he's owned since 1987. Both Chevelles will be displayed together at the 2019 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Illinois November 23-24 (mcacn.com).

The Goodyear reCharge concept debuted Tuesday, and this crazy futuristic tire envisions a radical new way to "replace" your rubber. Rather than swapping the physical tire for a new one, the tire manufacture is pondering something else -- what if you simply regenerate new tread ?

The professionals at your local Goodyear Auto Service tire shop can help you learn how to check your tires ' tread depth. But when it comes to tire maintenance, proper tread depth is one of the easiest ways to help maximize your safety and performance.

We replace our tires as the tread wears over time. That's the way things go. At Goodyear, maybe that's not the way it'll go in the future.

In this respect, the reCharge tire takes capsules that a vehicle owner would administer when tread life wears down. The biodegradable compound restores itself with a liquid compound capsule, but that's not all. Goodyear's concept tire is also customizable.

Airflow Vision Concept Revives a Grand Old Chrysler Name

Airflow Vision Concept Revives a Grand Old Chrysler Name What a sophisticated car will look like in the future, according to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: a sort of muscular retro-futurism and lots of screens.Even though CES, the annual technology show in Las Vegas, is undoubtedly forward-looking, Fiat Chrysler apparently thinks a shimmer of the past is the right way to go. FCA will show off a new "sculptural design concept" there next week. Interestingly, its name takes more than a little from the Chrysler Airflow, which was itself more than a little futuristic when it was produced back in the 1930s.

Goodyear 's second concept tire is called "Triple Lube" and is designed to automatically adjust tire inflation pressure in response to ever-changing road conditions. As the name implies, there are three lubes -- near the inboard and outboard shoulders, and in the center. An internal pump movies air from

Further, it consistently adjusts itself based on road conditions and the weather. Separate tires for winter and summer? Not with the reCharge tire -- the compound can morph for safe travels. Imagine feeding a performance capsule to the tire ahead of a track day for better performance. Now that's something wild to think about.

Goodyear ’s concept tires play a dual role in the future both as creative platforms to push the boundaries of conventional thinking and testbeds for Thanks to its advanced sensor technology and specially designed tread , the Goodyear IntelliGrip concept tire can sense many road conditions

Since this is a far-out concept idea, the tire looks properly futuristic. It boasts a tall and narrow shape with a lightweight frame. Goodyear said this design would eliminate the need to check tire pressures and also leave flat tires in the past.

The reCharge concept tire was scheduled to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show this week, but the international expo was cancelled before it commenced because of the coronavirus.

Goodyear is giving zero indication of whether any of this technology is near production ready, but it's always amazing to see where engineers' heads are. It seems inevitable the tire will change its form in the future, even if they simply go airless.

All-electric sedan makes 530 hp and has a 373-mile rangeMotorTrend got an early look at the Concept i4 in January, and when we asked Kai Langer, the head of BMW i Design, about the concept's borderline offensive styling, we were met with a confident smile. BMW's designers know full well what they're doing is going to ruffle a few feathers, but it doesn't bother them at all. Their aim is to push BMW into the future, and they can't do that by catering to those who want every BMW to look like an E28 5 Series. They aren't sorry about the way this car looks.
