MILAN (Reuters) - Italy reported 299 deaths linked to the new coronavirus on Sunday, against 488 the day before, and 11,629 new contaminations, after 13,331 on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health.

The country has a record of 85,461 deaths due to COVID- 19 since last February, making it the second hardest-hit country in Europe by the pandemic after the United Kingdom.
