How about a Cullinan from Los Gatos Luxury Cars, outside of Silicon Valley? The advertised deal is $3799 per month after $39,500 at signing on a 48-month lease. That 48 months may seem long, but it only includes 5000 miles per year—418 per month—and anything over that costs $2.50 per mile. So if you put as many miles on your Cullinan as most leases allow, you’ll be on the hook for another $70,000 or so when it comes time to turn that big box in.

What’s even more staggering is how incredibly restrictive these leases are. Rolls-Royce of Palm Beach in Florida stands ready to lease you a 2018 Ghost Sedan at only $2975 per month after $50,000 at signing on a 48-month lease. But that only buys you 2500 miles per year.

That’s a lease that only covers 208 miles of driving every month. That’s like, one trip back and forth between your estate in Beverly Hills and the beach house on Padaro Lane just south of Montecito. You know the one somewhere between Conan O’Brien’s, Ellen Degeneres’ and Ashton Kutcher’s places? Yeah that one. Do the math, and if you use all 10,000 miles it works out to a blistering $19.02 for each.

Pretty much everything about Rolls-Royce leases applies to those for Lamborghinis. Like if you’re daunted by the prospect of paying $3498 per month on a three-year lease after $25,789 at signing, don’t walk into Lamborghini North Los Angeles asking to look at the entry level 2020 Huracan Evo. Oh yeah, that’s three years, but only 7500 miles with additional miles at $2.50 per. The initial math works out to $19.78 per mile, though, so the overage is a relative bargain.

That was fun. Now back to reality.

Cheap Leases All Over the Place

Having resigned yourself to snagging neither a Rolls-Royce nor a Lamborghini, how about something truly cheap. Dirt cheap.

Hyundai will lease you an Ioniq Electric for three years and 30,000 miles for only $79 per month after $999 down. That’s a miserly 13 cents per mile. The catch here is that this deal is restricted to the New York City area. Most other areas can get the same vehicle for $109 per month after $2500 at signing on similar terms.

The best one we found this month is a $239 per month, 39 month, 32,500-mile lease on a 2019 Jetta S with the automatic transmission. Again, it’s a deal specific to New York City, but similar deals are available around the country.

Have your heart set on a Porsche? The cheapest lease on a new Porsche we could find is $749 per month on the Macan. That’s after $5009 at signing and includes 30,000 miles. This is through Porsche Financial Services, so you’ll have to ask your local dealer for the specifics in your zip code.
