Now, Messerschmitt Werk has revived the classic KR microcar , launching both gas and electric variants of an ultralight three-wheel roadster. A few years back, a German team resurrected the adorable Messerschmitt microcar as an electric-assist two-man Velomobile. At the time, some people wondered why it didn't just skip the pedals, drop a small engine in and bring it back as a modern -day microcar .

This 1956 Messerschmitt KR200 was reportedly acquired by its enthusiast owner in 2000. According to the listing, the owner gained experience working on these quirky cars in their native Germany when he was stationed there in the 1960s as an Air Force jet mechanic. Microcars continue to be very hot with collectors, and this one has an interesting story that sets it apart and inspires confidence. It will need a mechanical once-over, but it looks like a solid car . See the listing here, with reserve already met.

We'll soon be able to travel again, so in case you're planning your first excursion, we have a suggestion: Go to Europe and buy a new Messerschmitt Kabinenroller! A German outfit called Messerschmitt-Werke has a new, slightly-modernized version of everyone's favorite mid-century motorcycle-adjacent deathtrap, now with modern gasoline and electric power.

The new Messerschmitt is available in two versions, both featuring a fiberglass body over a steel-aluminum honeycomb chassis. The KR-202, shown in the photos, gets a 125-cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that produces just over 7 hp. With the help of its CVT automatic transmission, the KR-202 will get the two intrepid adults and one child squeezed into its cabin to a top speed of 56 mph. Such performance is a bit off the original KR-200—191cc, 9.9 hp, 67 mph.

A German is accused by the prosecution of having transmitted data on the Chamber of Deputies to Russia. The suspect, simply identified as Jens F., worked for a company repeatedly mandated by the Bundestag to carry out checks on his laptops.

Mention the name ‘ Messerschmitt ’ to a normal person, and chances are they will remember the Bf 109, an infamous German fighter plane of the WWII era. The defeat at that war forced the company to switch production from planes to tiny three-wheel passenger cars nicknamed the “Kabinenroller”. Power for the first model will come from a 125cc, one-cylinder internal combustion engine burning gas for 7.3 horsepower. The electric version will make do with a 6.7-HP motor. Both will max out at 75 miles per hour (120 km/h). Pre-orders or the KR-202 start from €10,950, while the E5000 commands a €2

This new model benefitted from a 191–cubic centimetre Fichtel & Sachs two-stroke single-cylinder engine.

Want to go greener? No problem! Messerschmitt-Werke also offers the E-KR5000, a battery powered version with a 6.7-hp electric motor, good for the same 56 mph. Range is about 50 miles on a charge, and you can double that with an optional second battery.
