Having spent over 20 years as a NASCAR fabricator, Brown picked a few tricks along the way and even championed a 2007 Dodge powered sprint car to 244.9mph and holds the record to this day. "The Uncatchable" is a '39 Ford on the outside, but is set up on a full NASCAR-inspired chassis and a 358ci Roush Yates engine.

About 50 years ago, the 1915 firetruck that underpins this car was abandoned in the woods by a local fire department. Fast-forward to 2014, and some current firefighters from that same department went into the woods and located what remained of the truck. That same month, Gary Wales adopted it and decided to turn it into a car.

The result is the LaBestioni Rusty Two, the 7000-lb behemoth you see here.

Wales designed and built the entire amazing creation. The hood and the radiator are both from the original firetruck, the engine is a 14-liter T-head that's been restored to its former glory, and the color is nothing more than patina with a clear coat. Disc brakes and power steering help make it more driveable, but power is still routed through a three-speed transmission and sent to the rear wheels via chain drive.

It's huge, it's loud, it weighs three and a half tons, and it looks like nothing else on the road. The LaBestioni Rusty Two may be odd, but it sure is fascinating.
