1971 Chevrolet Corvette Heads To Auction With No Reserve

1971 Chevrolet Corvette Heads To Auction With No Reserve Get this hot ‘Vette while you can. One of the most-recognized versions of classic Corvettes were the Stingrays. They introduced a brash, more aggressive design aesthetic that has become iconic today. This particular 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is going up for auction at no reserve. Pushing this ‘Vette forward is a 454 big block V8 engine, which pounds out 365-horsepower and a monstrous 465 lb.-ft. of torque. With a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, this is a car that will keep you engaged and in touch with the road.

Sadly, the cars are only visited a few times a year making it easier for the thieves to hide their tracks, but the good news is that both of these cars are highly sought after and should be easy to spot to discerning eyes – assuming Prototype Toyota 2000 GT headlines classic car auction in Tokyo .

Dennis Amodeo won, but before he could transport the cars to Long Island, Peter Max offered him a quarter million in cash, a quarter million in artwork, plus a cut of what the cars would sell for later. Prototype Toyota 2000 GT headlines classic car auction in Tokyo .

As cool as it is to daydream about buying rare cars at domestic auctions, sometimes it's more exciting to see what types of automotive forbidden fruit are being auctioned off in other countries. Take this weekend's BH Auction in Tokyo, example. While this is a small auction – just 22 lots – what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with some ultra-rare vehicles.

Each vehicle holds its own significance, but the 1969 Toyota 2000GT "MF12L" is probably the most exciting car at the auction. The 2000GT is already an extremely rare car with just 337 units ever made, and this car is the first of nine prototypes built with a bigger 2.3-liter inline-six instead of the 2.0-liter engine the production car came with. The bigger engine was never produced, which makes this car exceptionally special, and the auction house estimates that it is worth between ¥65 million and ¥80 million (about $600,000 to $750,000 USD), which is considerably less than the $1.16 million a 2000GT sold for back in 2013.

Epic Car Collection Has 3 LFAs, 2 LaFerraris, And 7 Toyota 2000GTs

Epic Car Collection Has 3 LFAs, 2 LaFerraris, And 7 Toyota 2000GTs A 2000GT Roadster is even in the mix! require(["medianetNativeAdOnArticle"], function (medianetNativeAdOnArticle) { medianetNativeAdOnArticle.getMedianetNativeAds(true); }); We’ve seen plenty of car collections filled with Italian exotics both old and new. We’ve also seen eclectic collections with a little bit of everything. This fresh video from Shmee150 showcases an incredible private car collection in Miami that’s a bit of both. Ferraris dominate one side of the beautiful garage, but on the other side we see a fleet of rare – and expensive – Toyota 2000GTs.

There are cars as far as the eye can see, and even cars stacked on cars in some spots. The original owner of this car hunted it down, but decided to pass once he saw how time had treated his beloved muscle car . Prototype Toyota 2000 GT Headlines Classic Car Auction In Tokyo .

Another significant vehicle at the auction is this 1982 Lancia 037 Rally Stradale – a road-going version of the Lancia Rally Group B racercar. This is the first of these homologation cars (VIN: 001), and overall production was limited to just 217 units between 1982 and 1984. With such low production numbers, it's easy to see why restoration of this car took 18 years! This rally-bred Lancia is expected to be worth between ¥60 million and ¥70 million (about $561,000 to $655,000 USD).

And as rare as the Toyota and Lancia are, they aren't even the most expensive cars at the auction. That distinction goes to the 2004 Porsche Carrera GT that is valued at ¥78 million and ¥88 million (about $730,000 to $823,000 USD). There are plenty of Porsches at this auction, too, including a 1989 911 Speedster that was one of just 171 units produced with the standard Carrera body instead of the wide, Turbo body.

1969 Plymouth Road Runner Heads To The Auction Block It will be at the Saratoga Auto Auction this fall. The Saratoga Auto Auction will take place at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center this fall from Friday, September 20, 2019 through Saturday, September 21, 2019. This Road Runner is a numbers-matching classic powered by a 383 cubic-inch V8 engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. It’s just one of 769 models produced in that configuration for 1969. This beauty also has Edelbrock carbs with the factory intake and exhaust.

The Toyota 2000 GT is a limited-production, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-seat, hardtop coupé grand tourer designed by Toyota in collaboration with Yamaha.

In addition to the cool classics, this auction has some collectible late-model vehicles as well such as the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4² and 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Speaking of Lamborghinis, the 2001 Diablo being auctioned off is one of the last Diablos, and it's also a rare right-hand-drive model.
