When Ford rolled out the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt Edition at the Detroit auto show in 2018, it pulled out all the stops and rolled out the original 1968 Bullitt Mustang—owned by the Kiernan family since the 1970s—alongside it. Since then Sean and the Bullitt movie "hero" car have been on a whirlwind tour encompassing four corners of the U.S. and abroad to share the Bullitt with fans everywhere. From sitting on display, encased in a see-through display box, at the National Mall in Washington, D.C, for National Mustang Day, to making a run up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, and of course SEMA and other major automotive events, Sean and his Bullitt have met thousands of enthusiasts and left incredible memories with fans everywhere over the last two years.

So why sell it? The last two years have been unreal, for sure, but it has also taken its toll on Sean and his family. With a third child due any day and a horse farm to run, being on the road weeks at a time to tell the Bullitt story has worn on him. Sean first lent the car to LeMay-America's Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington, for a few months to see if he could "live without it" and found he could. Obviously, having the car on loan to a museum is different than selling it outright to some stranger, but it showed Sean and his family that they could move on and let someone else enjoy the Bullitt car.
