It stipulates that from Monza onwards, the teams are no longer allowed to switch back and forth between the individual engine modes at will. This means that the party mode in qualifying is off the table, but officially the FIA is concerned that the modes are being misused to circumvent certain rules.
Lagarde expects, among other things, that inflation in the currency area will also be negative in the coming months and will not return to positive territory until the beginning of next year. In September consumer prices in the euro area fell by 0.3 percent within a year. This is the lowest rate in over four years. The monetary authorities are aiming for just under two percent inflation as the ideal value for the economy. However, this mark has long been missed.
So far, the financial sector has proven to be resilient, said Lagarde. Monetary policy also contributed to this. "However, the financial stability risks in the euro area remain increased." The vulnerabilities in the real economy have increased due to weak profit figures and rising debt. The ECB is ready to adjust all of its instruments if necessary, said the central bank chief. The next interest rate meeting is scheduled for October 29th.
