(Bloomberg) - Bloomberg Economics has dusted and used an academic model of the former US Federal Research Chief Ben Bernanke and applied to predict inflation prospects in the US. The results suggest that the increase in consumer prices will reach 4.8% in May year-on-year and will remain there until August before the inflation falls to 3.7% at the end of the year. This supports the view of a temporary inflation. However, the uncertainty of the model estimate is high and the consumer price index could also reach over 5.5% and remain at the end of the year at approximately 5%.
