They are one of those parts where most mechanically minded people know what they do, but may not know how they work. The guys over at Donut Media have put out a video that simplifies how a torque converter functions with the help of the Koenigsegg Regera, an electric hybrid hypercar with no transmission. Though the car's engineering and design are very extreme, its torque converter (hydraulic coupling) is the keystone to its blistering speed. 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric trumps Chevy Bolt EV's range
258 miles isn't anything to shake a stick at.The EPA just revealed its figures for the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric, the automaker's first battery-electric crossover in the US. It's officially rated at 258 miles per charge, which is 20 miles more than the Bolt EV. It's not even close to other competitors, coming in 107 miles higher than the 2018 Nissan Leaf, 134 miles higher than the Hyundai Ioniq Electric and 169 miles higher than the Honda Clarity Electric.
