Behold the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE, the most hardcore of Camaros

Behold the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE, the most hardcore of Camaros The option package will be available this summer. On the outside, it's immediately apparent what some of the changes are. The front fascia receives new canards and revised grilles, which are complemented by the enormous rear wing. That wing is made entirely of carbon fiber, has hollow supports, and provides 300 pounds of downforce at top speed. There is an X on each side of the wing endplates to further reinforce that this is the extreme Camaro (unlike the S10 Xtreme, which was nothing of the sort). The exposed carbon fiber also matches the standard exposed carbon fiber on the hood.

They include the first 2012 Camaro ZL 1 and the first 2017 Acura NSX. Compared to the ‘regular’ Camaro ZL 1 , the 1 LE makes the muscle car even more track-oriented and The ZL 1 1 LE also benefits from lightweight Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve dampers at all four corners.

The very first Chevrolet Camaro ZL 1 fitted with the optional hardcore 1 LE package was acquired by Rick Hendrick, with the money going to charity. Chevy has not released info about how much the new hardcore Camaro is going to cost, but it will obviously command a premium over the standard

Over the weekend, Barrett-Jackson sold the first 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE for $250,000 at its Palm Beach auction. Even though official pricing for the ZL1 1LE hasn't been officially announced, there's no chance it's anywhere close to the quarter of a million dollars this first customer car went for.

Save for the (presumably) yet-to-be-released Z/28, the ZL1 1LE is the most track-ready Camaro that Chevy currently produces. Packing a 650-horsepower LT4 supercharged V-8 also found in the Chevy Corvette Z06, the ZL1 1LE has a handful of handy-dandy track tools, including a carbon fiber rear wing, DSSV (dynamic suspension spool valve) dampers, sticky, summer-only Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, and Brembo brakes. Working in concert, these track-spec add-ons help shave three seconds off the ZL1 1LE's time around GM's Milford test track compared to the regular (if you can call it that) Chevy Camaro ZL1.

And while the buyer of this first ZL1 1LE likely paid way over sticker for the supercharged muscle car, the money went to a good cause. Every dollar from this sale reportedly went to The United Way, a charity that focuses on tackling community issues by working with schools, bank, and other local institutions.

The RSR fit right in with RM Sotheby's estimate, while the 918 exceeded the estimate by about $100,000. Both Porsches also ranked among the 10 top selling cars at the Villa Erba auction, with the RSR selling for the third highest amount behind a pair of pre-war French cars, and the 918 was fifth highest.
