Stealing the show is the all-new myKTM app and Connectivity Unit kit that gives SX-F owners the ability to adjust traction control, engine mapping, engine braking, and launch control. This has to be the coolest upgrade to the 2021 KTM SX-F range. Introducing the myKTM app .

To begin using the myKTM app, a KTM ID must be created, which involves providing some basic data and rider information. This allows the app to define the rider profile and suspension recommendations. Additionally, the rider can add a personal header image. The Garage section acts as a virtual garage where the rider must first select and manage their motorcycle fleet. After selecting their SX-F model, each rider is then provided with a range of tuning options and recommendations for both engine and suspension. Changes requested through the app are designed to be tangible, effective, and noticeable from the first part of a new lap.

Utilizing a combination of presets and sliding scales, the engine portion of the app allows the user to customize parameters of the engine to their taste or to suit the terrain and conditions. For example, riders might want more or less torque or responsiveness in certain parts of the powerband to suit sandy or hard-packed surfaces. The engine section also has room for personal notes, while each configuration comes with a short explanation of the subsequent effect on the bike.

KTM are excited to announce they will rely on the skills of Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira to represent Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in 2021. Making a massive step forward, the 2021 KTM SX-F line-up offers wireless connectivity via the all-new myKTM app , a sophisticated yet highly accessible tool

The engine section offers two different levels of adjustability including Prime and Advanced. In Prime, riders can label their new map and then choose from the track types (sand, soil, or hardpack), track condition (dry or wet), and traction control (from low to high, on a five-point sliding scale). The curve of the engine map is highlighted by the combination of settings and is shown on the graph at the bottom of the screen. Riders can make any personal notes and then upload the map to their bike and save it.

According to KTM, the Advanced mode is for riders who have become more familiar with the setup of their SX-F as it introduces more five-point scales for engine-braking, throttle response, traction control, and launch control. In both Prime and Advanced, there are information icons explaining the engine behavior as well.

The suspension category of the app is designed to help remove some of the hassle and the guesswork associated with suspension setup, especially on different tracks and varying conditions. The sag assistant is the first step toward finding the right fork and shock recommendations based on the rider’s skill and weight, and the condition of the track. The suspension setting recommendation function then offers suggestions for the fork’s compression, rebound, air pressure, and height, along with settings for the shock’s low-speed compression, high-speed compression, and rebound.
