Motorcycles Aprilia Tuono 660 Nears Production
Aprilia race director: "Average age of the dead is 79 years old"
Massimo Rivola questions the strict corona virus measures in his own country: The Italian wishes his country to return to normality as much as possible Italy continues the statistics in Europe and records the most corona deaths. The situation is particularly serious in the north of the country. Exit bans and closed factories are expected to slow the spread. But voices are slowly increasing, demanding a return to normality in order to avoid far-reaching economic consequences.
Althoughhas garnered plenty of attention since first appearing as a concept in 2018 and is heading for production in the next few months, it’s unlikely to be the biggest-selling model based on the firm’s new parallel-twin platform. That honor is more likely to go to the Tuono 660 that’s due to follow in 2021.
After being shown as a concept bike last year, there’s never been any doubt the Tuono 660 would follow the RS 660 into production. Nowhas filed styling patents for its cosmetic appearance, putting a claim on the intellectual property rights to the styling of the machine that will be in showrooms sometime in 2021.
motorcycles in the future with 1,200 cm³? - Rumors of rule changes in the Superbike World Championship
Gregorio Lavilla, Sports Director of the Superbike World Championship, has confirmed that an increase in the displacement in the Superbike World Championship is currently under discussion. © 2snap. Superbike World Championship motorcycles, at least if they are equipped with a four-cylinder engine, must not currently exceed the displacement limit of 1,000 cm³.
You’ll have to look closely to spot the changes compared to last year’s show bike, but there are tweaks to the appearance. While the designs seen here were filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office in the same week that the concept version appeared on Aprilia’sshow stand, these designs provide clues that these are more representative of a production model.
The main changes are all in the bike’s belly area and are likely to be a result of efforts to hide an emissions-legal exhaust system—something the concept model didn’t have to be concerned with. First, the whole belly pan is larger on the new design (left) compared to the concept (right), as well as gaining a more complex shape with an additional vent underneath, near the front. The belly’s sides rise higher, covering more of the exhaust, and the aerodynamic winglet extends further back.
Ducati signs Martin as Miller's Pramac replacement

Look further up and the exhaust header on the design drawing shows a distinct bulge as it heads into the belly pan—a clear indication there’s a catalytic converter mounted high on the downpipe, where it can reach operating temperature quickly to beat emissions limits. The heat of that cat may also explain the additional vent needed in the bodywork.
From the second angle, the differences are even harder to spot. There’s a change in the front brake master cylinder, but that sort of component isn’t likely to be considered an important element in the design. The styling patent also lacks the bar-end lever guards featured on the concept version. However, what’s perhaps clearest of all from these designs is that if you liked the look of last year’s Tuono 660 concept, you’re not going to be disappointed with a weak, watered-down production version when it finally comes to showrooms.
2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4/V4 S
2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4/V4 S Reviews, Comparisons, And CompetitionIn Cycle World’s first ride review, Road Test Editor Michael Gilbert stated, “At first touch of the throttle, the Streetfighter offers a crisp and tractable power delivery as it comfortably transfers weight rearward for supreme confidence at corner exit. But hit the 7,000 rpm mark, and you’ll witness the V4 in all its glory as it lofts the front end skyward and sends your glutes into the rear cowling under hard acceleration.”Sign up here to receive our newsletters.
In terms of specs, we already know that Aprilia fractionally detuned the RS 660′s 98 bhp engine—which is effectively the front bank of the—for the Tuono. It will peak at 94 hp, but purely for legal reasons. In Europe, complicated motorcycle licensing rules mean that most new riders spend time on restricted “A2 license” bikes. These are limited to less than 47 bhp, and can’t be restricted versions of bikes with more than double that output (94 bhp)—hence the Tuono’s slight reduction in peak power compared to the RS 660, which won’t be eligible to be restricted for A2 license holders.
The RS 660 is expected to reach dealers in late 2020, with the Tuono following a few months later. In late 2021, Aprilia will unveil a third model in the range, the adventure-styled Tuareg 660.
