Our hands are crucial contact points to our motorcycle. They are used to leverage pressure at the handlebars to assist with steering and are key for twisting the throttle or gripping at the front brake lever; not to mention they’re often the first contact point if an accident occurs. Riding gloves are designed to provide grip, comfort, and protection to our hands while riding. They range in styles and materials to suit various riders and their needs. Shorties to gauntlets, Gore-Tex to leather, these designs and materials offer different amounts of protection, breathability, and durability regardless of whether you are riding a standard motorcycle, cruiser, or custom.

OTS: POL-RBK: Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis - Again numerous violations of motorcycle inspections at the weekend Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis (ots) - The RheinBerg police also monitored motorcyclists intensively on the last weekend. The traffic service was active on the days with both the blue-silver motorcycle and the civilian Provia motorcycle throughout the district. Measures had to be taken in over 30 cases. Five motorcyclists noticed that they were overtaking in the no-overtaking zone. During four inspections, the officials found technical defects that resulted in the operating license expiring.

Perhaps it doesn’t just come down to the style or the materials for you, but what really makes or breaks your decision to buy one pair of gloves over the other is the price. In order to accommodate any budget we have rounded up a list of gloves for female riders with a wide price range. Happy shopping!

The beauty of many styles of riding gloves is they can work for either men or women, like the See See Street Glove we see here. This glove offers great grip with the suede/sticky grid on the palm and is padded on the outside of the wrist for added impact protection. The pre-curved fingers make these gloves comfortable throughout the ride and the large Velcro “See See” embossed strap allows for adjustability. The finger and palm width is a tad wide for my spindly fingers and slender palm, but you must also take into consideration that the glove is designed to fit men’s hands, as well. All that aside, at just $50 these are a stylish and comfortable non-gendered, budget-friendly pair of mitts.

These Harley-Davidson Arterial Leather Denim Gloves are a great go-to for quick, casual rides. The Cordura denim/goatskin leather combination and tan threading is super stylish and the pre-curved material is lightweight and pliable for a good grip at the handlebars. Perforated leather and touchscreen-compatible fingertips add comfort and convenience respectively. The gloves taper down nicely around my thin wrists while still accommodating a nice range during throttle-twisting motion. The fingers are long and thin which was perfect for my hand shape. The fabric at the palm molded nicely to my hand’s natural curve, as well. If you are looking for a comfortable, casual shortster for your Sportster, these are the way to go.

The Spidi Flash-R EVO glove is a great option for those looking for a light summer glove with some dirt-riding style. These are very breezy with mesh fabric on the fingers. If you have longer, slender digits, then you’re in luck because these fit well in that department, however, if your nails grow out a little bit, you may notice some catching on the chunky seams inside the fingertips. Touchscreen capability on the index finger is a welcome addition on these gloves as well. The suede on the inside of the hand is soft and flexible and the additional padding on the palm, side, and top of the hand provide additional comfort and protection. A Velcro flap secures the glove around the wrist.

Alpinestars Stella C1 Windstopper V2 Gloves

For fists-to-the-wind riders or the everyday cooler morning/evening commuter, these Alpinestars Stella C1 Windstopper V2 Gloves do just that—stop the wind. With the help of Gore-Tex membrane these block any chilly wind and the water resistance also keeps the morning dew at bay, though the puffiness of the material does cause the fingers to feel a bit thick. The flexible exterior is comfortable for riding around town though, and the touchscreen-compatible index fingertip makes it more convenient for when you need to be the navigator. The palm and fingers are lined with leather for abrasion resistance. In case of impact or abrasion these gloves also have armored knuckles that are nicely flush with the material giving them a simple, clean-cut look that still means business. Strapping these down is also a hook-and-look strap.

Vanson Women’s Rocket Gloves

Straight out of the packaging, it’s apparent that these Vanson Women’s Rocket Gloves are high-quality, last-a-lifetime gauntlets. Although the leather cowhide did need a few rides to break in, the material is durable and quickly became supple. Zip them on with the smooth-gliding top zipper and they fit like a second skin (did I miss my chance at being super clichéd here?). They form and mold nicely around the fingers and palms, with a flare after the wrists to allow for jacket cuffs to be tucked in. This fit makes for all-around great coverage. Vanson leather products have lasted years for my fellow colleagues and I suspect that these gloves will be no different. Yes, they’re the priciest pair on the list but, like we said, they’ll last you years and just get better with age.
