Pol Espargaro's move to Honda gives Miguel Oliveira the chance to join the works team at KTM. He becomes Brad Binder's teammate. "I'm curious to see if we can get more out of Miguel than he has already shown. That was pretty good," notes Trevathan. "I'm looking forward to the challenge and I'm curious whether we can get the same level or even more."

Great expectations of the new addition to the works team

There is a lot to be expected from Oliveira, especially when it comes to development. KTM has already seen how things are not going with Johann Zarco, who left the team after six months in the 2019 season to realign himself.

What went wrong with Johann Zarco

"Johann thought he was coming here and everything would be served on a tray. He didn't realize that he had to make decisions himself", Trevathan looks back. "We can give the drivers more tools, but it's about the work to make things better."

"When we tested with Pol in Sepang, for example, he drove every (six) days and could only concentrate on himself when we gave him a fresh tire," reports the KTM crew chief. "Otherwise he tried different things on the motorcycle."

"Every test is about an assessment of what is better, what works better and what should be used for the rest of the year. This workload is immense. I am curious to see how Miguel will handle it when he leads us", so Trevathan.
