Kawasaki Werkspilot Jonathan Rea experienced an exciting race on Saturday in Misano (). The record world champion drove on position two, as the front wheel slipped into curve 1. Rea prevented a fall by delivering a Save that reminded strongly at MotoGP-ex-champion Marc Marquez.
"Actually, I never save such rides," Rea notes after the race and is looking forward to the 16 points for third place: "I am very happy. The instinct took control. I lay next to the motorcycle and slipped with my boot and my Knee."
"But then the motorcycle set up again, as at the Dirt Track. It's nothing I've trained. Then I realized that I am in the gravel. I slowed and really slowed," says the World Cup leader.
Impressive: Jonathan Rea when test faster than the MotoGP prototypes
© Kawasaki World Champion Jonathan Rea is the favorite in the new season Jonathan Rea has completed the preseason tests with a recorddrunning. In the final forums in Aragon ( to the Test Report ), the Kawasaki pilot circulated the course in 1: 48.528 minutes and was thus faster than on his pole round in the previous year. In addition, Rea subbed the lap times of KTM-MotoGP Test Driver Dani Pedrosa, who also turned his laps in Aragon.
The victory went to Ducati-Pilot Michael Ruben Rinaldi. Yamaha Pilot Toprak Razgatlioglu became second. "Michael is fantastic. His rhythm at the top was really good. I was better in the fast curves better," compares Rea. "I hope we can improve the motorcycle for Sunday. I learned a lot of Michael, but also from Toprak. Tomorrow we should be better prepared."
In the championship, Jonathan Rea was able to do three points on Scott Redding, despite the shock second. That he is repeatedly addressed to Redding, Rea now annoys.
"I'm always questioned about Scott, Scott, Scott. But honestly it is pretty disrespectful to Toprak and today Michael. He has all the destroyed and impressive work today," says Rea.
"Scott is another driver I have to defeat. In the previous year he was the biggest opponent. This year, Toprak is second in the championship. But it is important that you are also on the podium if you have a problem or a problem Difficult race has. In the end, all points are counted together. I can appreciate myself happy today, "Rea accounts for the first race day in Misano.
