Plans finalized for fan access to Daytona Cup garage NASCAR and tracks are opening the Cup garage for more fans this season.

Daytona International Speedway announced that actor Chris Evans will be the grand marshal for the Daytona 500 on February 23rd. Evans, who plays Captain America in the upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will give the command to start the engines at the 56th running of the Daytona 500 .

Lighting McQueen himself Owen Wilson is set to serve as Grand Marshal for the upcoming 59th annual Daytona 500 . The actor joins a long list of fellow celebrities who have acted as Grand Marshal following in the footsteps of Vince Vaughn , Ben Affleck , Matthew McConaughey and more.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) Houston Texans star J.J. Watt will serve as the grand marshal for the Daytona 500, making him the first NFL player to give the command for drivers to starts their engines before NASCAR's most famous race.

Daytona International Speedway made the announcement Monday, six days before the 61st running of ''The Great American Race.''

Watt is a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and well known for his charity work with the Justin J. Watt Foundation, which provides after-school opportunities for children. Following Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Watt set a goal to raise $200,000 for recovery efforts in Houston. He ended up raising more than $41 million, helping earn him the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

Country music singer Jake Owen will perform an infield concert before the race. Retired NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. will serve as the honorary pace truck driver. The 82nd Airborne Division's All-American Chorus will sing the national anthem.

Following its historic Daytona 500 1-2-3 finish on Sunday, Joe Gibbs Racing is about to share some more good news about one of its star NASCAR performers. Motorsport.com has learned that Kyle Busch has agreed terms to re-sign with Toyota’s powerhouse Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series squad in a multi-year deal that will be formally revealed in the coming days. Busch, the 2015 Cup champion, is understood to have put pen to paper at Daytona over the weekend, before his strong drive to finish runner-up to Denny Hamlin in the 500.
