Contrary to the original calendar planning, Sebastian Vettel is now getting a home grand prix on his Ferrari farewell tour. Formula 1 arrives at the Nürburgring on October 11th, as eleventh stop of the 2020 World Championship .

"Yet another Grand Prix in Germany", Vettel on his website is happy about the good news from home. "I have driven three times in a Formula 1 car there so far. . With Red Bull we had two victories at the Nürburgring. I was second once and won the race in 2013."

Vettel contested all three of his Nürburgring Grands Prix of his career on Red Bull. In 2009 he drove from fourth on the grid to second, in 2011 he was fourth from third on the grid, and in 2013 he won from second. For the four-time world champion, this is still the only victory in a Formula 1 race on German soil.

2020 has little chance of repeating this triumph given the Ferrari team's sporting crisis. Perhaps the rain god will help him a little: "I'm curious to see what the weather will be like in October in the Eifel," said Vettel. "It will definitely be a challenge for the teams and for us drivers."
