If you drive your car out in the real world, you're going to get rock chips. Some wear them as a badge of pride, while others might see them as a bit of an eyesore. For the second group, detailer extraordinaire Larry Kosilla has a great method to restore your car's front end right at home.

To follow Kosilla's method, you'll need some touch-up paint, rubbing alcohol, and an extremely fine painting pen, like this Loew-Cornell one you can pick up at Amazon. This pen isn't designed specifically for fixing rock chips, but it works perfectly well for the job at hand.

How To Turn A Surplus Hummer Into The Off-Road Beast Of Your Dreams Ever since the U.S. military started pawning its ratty old Humvees off on the public through surplus auctions, people have been wondering how good they really are as off-road toys. I mean, we already know they’re suboptimal for city traffic. Anyway, here’s a peek at how to make one of these metal monsters sing. The first step is to fill up the pen's reservoir with your touch-up paint, then tap the tool against a hard surface to get the paint down to the ultra-fine brush at the bottom. Once that's done, you can apply tiny drops of paint to each rock chip. Kosilla lets the paint sit overnight, going over spots he missed the following morning.

To clean the pen, fill a cup with rubbing alcohol and swish it around for a few seconds. Then, take a very small pipe cleaner, and push out whatever paint is left.

Kosilla uses a 1965 Porsche 911 that's actually headed to New York's Museum of Modern Art as an example, but you could probably do this with any car. It's not the quickest way to touch up rock chips, but it's simple and effective. And it only requires around $20 in supplies.

Where the gas and electricity play.
The Range Rover P400e joins the Range Rover Sport P400e in a plan to offer every Jaguar Land Rover vehicle with an electrified powertrain option from 2020 onward. With a claimed 31 miles of battery-electric driving range, the P400e versions of the Sport and the big Range may be regarded as the first plug-in off-roaders. (Subaru's hybrid Crosstrek wasn’t a plug-in, was axed for 2017, and wasn’t really an off-roader, either.) The Range Rover’s hybrid system is set up just like it is in the Sport: A turbocharged 2.
