Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are entering the next model year with new engines, according to the manufacturer Land Rover. This should make vehicles more efficient and cleaner on the road.
There is a new inline six-cylinder diesel for the off-road vehicle after the summer holidays. It has a displacement of 3.0 liters, is equipped with a mild hybrid system based on 48 volts and replaces the previous V8 diesel. The electric starter generator is designed to provide additional torque when starting, extend the start-stop phases and recover more energy when braking - and thus reduce fuel consumption.

New diesel in several power levels
The engine is offered in two power levels with 221 kW / 300 PS and 258 kW / 350 PS. For the smaller Range Rover Sport it is also available with 183 kW / 249 PS - in this variant it is available at prices from 71 452 euros. There are no prices for the Range Rover yet.
For the Range Rover, the manufacturer specifies a fuel consumption of 8.6 to 9.2 liters (225 to 241 g / km CO2). These values are not yet available for the Range Rover Sport.
The range of petrol engines that deliver up to 416 kW / 565 hp and the plug-in hybrid with 297 kW / 404 hp remain unchanged. The Range Rover Sport is also available as an entry-level model from 68 723 euros with a two-liter four-cylinder and 221 kW / 300 hp.
