Flat Track Motorcycle Racing Returns 2020 Flat Track Motorcycle Racing Returns 2020In that spirit, American Flat Track, a dangerous motorcycle racing sport even in the safest of times, is back. And true to its nature, it’s debuting in one of the least safe environs around—Florida. To be fair, it’s managing the risk with the same mindset that goes into mitigating the standard, run-of-the-mill danger that’s normally faced.

Corvette continues GTLM pace

After six wins from nine races, Corvette Racing has also secured pole position for Petit Le Mans fetched. This time, however, it was not the yellow car # 3 (Taylor / Garcia / Catsburg) that dominated the championship, but the gray Vette # 4 (Gavin / Milner / Fässler).

Electric Vehicles are Too Damn Expensive

Electric Vehicles are Too Damn Expensive The average Josephine on the street can’t afford to step into most electric vehicles on sale in the U.S. today, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has admitted. “Our cars are not affordable enough,” Musk said during his second-quarter earnings call in July. “We need to fix that.” Electric cars and crossovers remain far too expensive to be daily commuters for the middle- and working-classes, who in congested urban areas, at least, may be turning to e-bikes instead, an electric segment in which U.S. sales spiked 92-percent in April and 137-percent in May, according to Bicycle Retailer and Industry News.

The Acura Festival continued in the GTD: Meyer-Shank-Acura # 86 (McMurry / Farnbacher / Michimi) took pole position. Shinya Michimi, actually "only" the third driver in the Acura NSX GT3, got the chance and set a time of 1: 19.291 minutes.

That was 0.273 seconds faster than Jeff Westphal in the Scuderia-Corsa-Ferrari # 63 (MacNeil / Balzan / Westphal), who is also an "auxiliary driver" in the endurance races.

The 10-hour race starts on Saturday at 6:40 p.m., one hour later than usual.
