Tesla had to change its water consumption plan as a result. Back in January 2020 we highlighted that Elon Musk was going to war with German Environmentalists about the building of the new Gigafactory. Thousands of trees needed to be cut down in order to make space for Tesla ' s new building.

Tesla got its water supply shut off at Gigafactory Berlin because they apparently didn’t pay their bill. Several reports are coming of Germany stating that Tesla had to temporarily stop construction work at the site of Gigafactory Berlin due to water being shut off.

Tesla deadbeat? The American electric car maker was deprived of water on the construction site of its first European plant, near Berlin, for failing to pay its bill, the local distributor said Thursday. The water company serving the Strausberg-Erkner (east) area has cut off access to water for its prestigious customer because Tesla "has not paid its bills," said spokeswoman for the dealership, Sandra Ponesky, to AFP.

The American group was relaunched several times and the threat was executed after the legal deadline of 14 days. "Tesla is not treated any differently from other" customers, added the same source, confirming information published on the site of the regional daily "Märkische Oderzeitung". Tesla did not respond to an AFP solicitation. This suspension comes at a time when the American manufacturer is working hard to build its future site at Grünheide in the Brandenburg region, bordering Berlin, from which batteries, engines and vehicles will have to be released for the European market.
