While the gown worn by Meghan Markle at her wedding tomay have appeared simple, it took much longer than both of those dresses combined to complete the look. Keller, worn by the Duchess of Sussex, revealed to that it took a whopping 3,900 hours to create the custom made wedding dress. On top of the fact that it took nearly 4,000 hours to put the dress together, about four whole months of a year were dedicated to the creation of the gown. Not even —designed by Maison Margiela—hit the thousand hour mark; her entire outfit took total to sew and hand embroider the whole thing.

Meghan’s chic style comes with a hefty price tag. When she stepped out at Westminster Abbey with fiancé Prince Harry for her first official duty alongside Queen Elizabeth on Monday, Meghan Markle’s $1,000 white coat from British designer Amanda Wakeley turned heads.
It is unclear if those 3,900 hours of dress designing include the creation of Markle's 16-foot long floral embroidered veil, but even if all of that time dedicated to the creation of the dress does include the design of the veil, that is still a magnificently long amount of time to spend creating a couture gown. The simplicity of Markle's wedding gown might not have been possible without the dedicated, fastidious design over the course of 3,900 hours—ason the day of the ceremony, the dress had just six seams fastening it together in order to achieve such a sleek and straightforward look.
