FRIENDSWOOD, TX — The bond between a father and his daughter can be pretty special, but it’s not every day that a single dad seeks out fashion advice from his daughter before heading out for a hot date.

That is, of course, unless you are Carli Saville and her dad, Jeff Saville, who recently lit up twitter with their exchange on Jeff’s clothing choice for a date.

Carli, who is 19-years-old and a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, told Patch she has always been close with her dad.

"He’s our rock. We could not function without him," she said. "My dad is like my best friend."

Jeff, a general contractor in Friendswood, was preparing for his third date with a woman he’d hoped would be his soul mate, but he didn’t have any clue on what he was going to wear. It wasn't long before Jeff and Carli began tweeting back and forth, and that exchange blew up twitter.

Carli helped Jeff find the right outfit, and then Jeff went to meet the date who didn’t show up. Carli said the date was suppose to text a time to meet at the restaurant for their date, but that text never came.

Even a restaurant or two got in on the twitter exchange offering a free dinner if Jeff came with a date.

Carli, who is the second oldest of four girls, said she never expected to get the reaction she received. So far, her tweet has been liked by more than 167,000 people, shared more than 5,000 times, and drawn nearly 300 comments.

"It was crazy reading what everyone had to say," she said.

Carli said her dad has taken the whole experience in stride, and plans to continue his search for his #MrsRight.
