Press Releases . Starbucks Reserve Gin Barrel - Aged Cold Brew and whole-bean coffee is available exclusively at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle for a limited time, starting March 13.

It seems as though Starbucks is adopting that technique with their newest beverage: cold brew aged in gin barrels . Starbucks has used this method before: Last year, the coffee chain released a whiskey- barrel aged Sulawesi coffee.

One of the secrets to Starbucks’ success—beyond being on pretty much every street corner around the globe—is a willingness to jump on any and every trend. From beverages (make everything a Frappuccino!) to food (hello, avocado spread!) to tech (cashless stores, anyone?), Starbucks makes calculated forays into the concepts that intrigue customers. Their growing number of barrel-aged coffees is no exception: Barrel-aging has become extremely popular—if you haven’t had a barrel-aged beer, you’re not drinking enough beer—and last year, the ‘Bux decided to bring the idea to its cold brew with whiskey barrel-aged beans. Now, the coffee giant has just released another new cold brew made with beans aged in the barrel of an even trendier spirit: Gin.

How 1 Woman Invented Coffee as We Know It Today

How 1 Woman Invented Coffee as We Know It Today If you've ever wondered what genius invented the coffee filter as you sip a freshly brewed cup, allow this brief introduction to make you appreciate your daily dose of caffeine even more. Melitta Bentz, a German housewife, invented the coffee filter based on her desire for a smoother blend without the presence of grainy grinds or the bitterness caused by overbrewing. Melitta, who brewed coffee every day, wasn't pleased with the ineffective ceramic and metal filtering devices that were available, so she tried a softer, thinner material: a sheet of blotting paper from her son's school notebook.

Starbucks Just Released A New Kind Of Trendy Cold Brew . It's not just the barrel - aged beans that give the drink a gin twist, however. The entire beverage is meant to be a take on a classic gin and tonic — although keep in mind that it's non-alcoholic.

Now, the coffee giant has just released another new cold brew made with beans aged in the barrel of an even trendier spirit: Gin . Currently available exclusively at Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle, Gin Barrel - Aged Cold Brew is an amalgam of many popular drinks, served sparkling as a

Currently available exclusively at Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle, Gin Barrel-Aged Cold Brew is an amalgam of many popular drinks, served sparkling as a twist on a gin and tonic that starts with Gin Barrel-Aged Rwanda coffee concentrate, ice, and a few dashes of lime bitters before being finished with tonic and a garnish with lime. Though the results have notes of both gin and cold brew, the drink is far from as boozy as it sounds because the cold brew itself isn’t aged in gin barrels; instead, the coffee beans are barrel-aged before they’re even roasted.

“The beverage begins with unroasted small-lot Rwandan coffee beans hand-scooped into oak barrels that first held bourbon, then used to age gin by local craft distillery Big Gin in Seattle,” Starbucks explains on its website. “Over several weeks, the beans are carefully hand-rotated in the barrel and absorb notes of pepper, cardamom and vanilla from the gin and barrel char. They are then small-batch roasted by Starbucks master roasters, a process which burns off the alcohol but retains the aroma and flavor from the barrel aging. The result is a lively coffee infused with a warm botanical essence that highlights its bright citrus notes and caramel finish.”

Starbucks has a new line of millennial pink tumblers for spring, and it's the only way we'll drink coffee now Three new, pretty, pink coffee cups are celebrating spring on Starbucks locations' shelves across the country starting this week.AND THANK YOU, STARBUCKS, FOR MAKING OUR MILLENNIAL PINK DREAM COME TRUE! Fine Living News. Starbucks Releases New Gin Barrel - Aged Cold Brew . Long Story Short. Starbucks is rolling out a new cold brew that mimics the classic gin and tonic.

From Unicorn Frappuccinos to Piña Colada tea to Guinness lattes, we’ve tried them all, with mostly mixed reviews. But this week, Starbucks announced it’s releasing Gin Barrel - Aged Cold Brew , and for once, this sounds right up our alley.

Though Gin Barrel-Aged Cold Brew won’t give you a buzz unless you spike it with some hooch, Jennifer Galbraith, Starbucks manager of product development for R&D, suggests that the results aren’t any less enjoyable. “When you go to take your first sip, you’ll smell the quinine from the tonic and the botanicals from the gin and the coffee,” she said. “Then you taste the orange and lemon, finishing with caramel notes from the coffee and the barrel. It weaves together like a piece of fabric and leaves you with a light, refreshing flavor.”

Starbucks Reserve Gin Barrel-Aged Cold Brew will only be available for a limited time, and as of now, only at the one Seattle location, but if you can’t get to the main Roastery, that doesn’t mean you should give up hope entirely. After Starbucks introduced its Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew in March of last year, the drink found its way to the brand’s Starbucks Reserve coffee bars in a handful of major metropolitan areas across the country in September. The Gin Barrel-Aged Cold Brew is also available as whole-bean coffee which is significantly easier to ship than a mocktail.

Cold Brew & Wine Had A Beverage Baby & Here's What It Tastes Like

Cold Brew & Wine Had A Beverage Baby & Here's What It Tastes Like Last month, Apothic Wine announced it was getting in on the coolest trend in coffee — yes, you read that correctly. If the idea of mixing two drinks that serve essentially opposite purposes gives you pause, you're certainly not alone. We had some reservations about Apothic Brew, too. While we enjoy drinking a nice glass of red wine to unwind at the end of a long day and can't get enough cold brew during summer, that doesn't necessarily mean the two beverages will taste good when put together. Our skepticism, however, was completely washed away once we took our very first sips.

Starbucks is once again reinventing the coffee experience, this time with gin . The coffee giant is now offering Gin Barrel - Aged Cold Brew at its Roastery in Seattle. Like the company's Whiskey Barrel - Aged Sulawesi beverage that it debuted last year

The popular coffee chain has teamed up with Seattle-based Captive Spirits Distilling, which produces Big Gin , on its new product – called Starbucks Reserve Gin Barrel - Aged Cold Brew .

Starbucks Just Released 2 New Frappuccinos .
Starbucks is notorious for seasonally spiking their menus with new and outrageous frappuccinos. Both new additions sound seriously extra, but what sets them apart from their equally excessive predecessors is the new addition of cold brew whipped cream. Sounds like the perfect way to kick off summer, right? Not quite. If you’re watching your waistline and looking to get lean this season, these shocking nutritionals may deter you from placing an order at the ‘Bux.
