What Exactly Makes a "Dry" Wine Dry?
Wine not only actually tastes good, but is moderately healthy in small amounts and has the added benefit of making you look chic and knowledgeable when you drink it.I love to drink wine. Ever since graduating college, the mere thought of straight liquor makes me ill (just wait, you'll get old one day too) and beer is just not my favorite. Wine not only actually tastes good, but is moderately healthy in small amounts and has the added benefit of making you look chic and knowledgeable when you drink it.
Bridal showers, PTA meetings, those hellish hours spent in doctors' office waiting rooms - basically, any time you've secretly wished for a stiff drink - will never be the same. One company's designed a line of handbags with a secret pouch for storing (and serving) wine, and a whole lot of it at that.
Each of's PortoVino totes can hold up to two bottles of wine, which you can pour into a refillable pouch and store in a zippered, insulated pocket within the bag. No one will know it's there - until you unbutton a flap on the side of the bag, pull out the spout and pour yourself a glass. So this is what people mean by all that "rosé all day" talk.
White Wine May Lead to Increased Cancer Risk, Studies Say
A recent study from Brown University linked white wine with Melanoma, an extremely severe form of skin cancer. While alcohol has always been linked to cancer, this new study raises questions, due to the fact that this correlation is much higher than once thought. How Does Alcohol Cause Cancer? There are many ways alcohol could have an effect on cancer in the body. In the case of white wine, scientists are theorizing that when ethanol is metabolized, our bodies absorb the cancer-causing carcinogen, acetaldehyde.
Though the bags, which retail for $75 apiece, can technically hold any drink - or even condiment, if you want to take Beyoncé's "hot sauce in my bag" line to its absolute swaggiest extent - they're designed specifically for vino, allowing you to "take the party with you" wherever you go. (Just make sure you're not breaking any open container laws, you party animal, okay?)
The best part, though? The tote's roomy enough to hold your essentials: keys, wallet, phone, selection of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie, bottle opener, four-pack of glasses. You know, the absolute can't-get-through-an-afternoon-withouts.

Trader Joe’s Now Sells $1 Canned Wine .
You know what they say about wine — the cheaper the better! They don’t actually say that, but since a $6 Walmart wine was recently named one of the best in the world, we know that expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better. Trader Joe’s just announced that they will be selling a new canned wine called Simpler Wines that only costs $4 for a four-pack. (Yes, that means one can of wine costs just $1.) Simpler Wines come in eye-popping, colorful cans in two varieties: white and rosé. Trader Joe’s claims that the white wine is “slightly sweet and offers hints of honeydew” while the rosé is “mineral with a light, red fruit flavor.” Canned wine seems to be having a moment as the successor to the boxed wine trends of the ‘90s and ‘00s. Just last year, Whole Foods began stocking their shelves with canned wine in anticipation of a huge trend. Inspired by the value vino movement? Check out these secrets to scoring great wine deals at Costco.
