According to the Starbucks website, the new Tie Dye Frappuccino is a "deliciously fruity drink." And prior to the drink's launch on July 10 the company described it on social media "like a ray of sunshine + a tropical pool party + your favorite song topped with whipped cream."

In reality, the drink delivers a lot of generic fruit flavor without committing specifically to any fruit in particular.

It tastes like milk that's been infused with the flavor of Fruity Pebbles cereal — except that the sugar flavorings here aren't quite as high quality as the beloved rainbow-colored breakfast food. A grande (16-ounce) Tie Dye Frappuccino made with whole milk and whipped cream is 400 calories, with 140 coming from fat, according to the company's website. It also contains 58 grams, or more than one-third cup, of sugar.

According to the Starbucks app on July 10 in metro Phoenix, pricing for the Tie Dye Frappucino is as follows:
