Food McDonald’s Is Giving Away Free Fries If At Least 3 Celebs Cry At The Grammys
McDonald’s Basket of Fries Is Available at Select Locations
Keep an eye out for the golden basket in your neighborhood. The Basket of Fries—essentially two medium fries served in one rectangular container—is made for easy sharing, but hey, if you want to tackle the portion yourself, we’re not stopping you.
I love awards season, because it's a great excuse to throw a dinner party. There's nothing more fun than inviting friends over on a Sunday night, opening a fresh case of White Claw and sitting in front of the TV to spot celebrities on the red carpet.
If my inner Martha Stewart is tingling, I'll whip up a meal worthy of the stars. But one thing I've heard about celebs is that they're just like us. So sometimes I just like to keep it casual by sending an invite that clearly says "sweatpants optional" and ordering in because it's cold outside.
The absolute best thing to eat in every state
Every state has some absolutely delicious dishes, and each of these favorites isn't just tasty, they're also iconic.
One solid option for Grammys night is McDelivery with Uber Eats. That's because McDonald's is offering a free 10-piece Chicken Nuggets with every $15 order placed through Uber's food delivery app. Ummm, pass the barbecue sauce please.
To make the night even more special, McDonald's is also running a special "Fries for Cries" promo. It at least three celebs cry during the broadcast, you'll also win an award: free medium fries. I've already set myself a calendar invite to check Uber Eats first thing Monday morning to see if enough tears were shed in the name of fries.
Let me be clear that McDonald's specifically advertised "tears of joy," because it's never good karma to root for someone to cry for another reason. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure that McDonald's deserves the biggest standing ovation Sunday night.
This Is Why McDonald's Hash Browns (And French Fries) Taste So Good
The secret is in one ingredient! The trick is an ingredient added to the oil used to partially fry the hash browns (and those famous french fries) before freezing them and shipping them to restaurants. From the very beginning, McDonald’s used to fry their french fries and hash browns (when breakfast items were added to the menu in the 1970s) in a mixture of cottonseed oil and beef tallow. It’s a delicious combination, but since beef tallow is a form of rendered fat, it’s also unhealthy and made the fries and hash browns very high in saturated fat.
