A man left a tip of 10,000 in a Florida restaurant the 20 employees at the facility shared fairly before being laid off for the most part the next day due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Despite all the negative stories we hear right now, there are still absolutely fantastic people in the world," local breakfast maker Skillets wrote on its Facebook page on Thursday.

The customer left the tidy sum of cash last week in Naples, on the west coast of Florida, the day before the governor's order to close all restaurants in the state, except for deliveries to home.

7 things you should cook in an air fryer and 7 things you shouldn't

7 things you should cook in an air fryer and 7 things you shouldn't Insider spoke to chefs and culinary pros about the foods you should and should not be putting in your air fryer.

"We don't yet know who it was," chain boss Ross Edlund told local press, but is hopeful that he will be able to identify this generous benefactor.

"We have regulars who have been coming for years, they are friends but we don't always know their names," he said. "We know their faces, their favorite dishes, the tables where they sit, but we don't know exactly who they are."

The 20 employees of the Naples restaurant each returned home with an additional $ 500 in their pocket that evening.

Most did not return to work the next day: Ross Edlund says he was forced to part with 90% of the 200 employees at his nine Florida restaurants due to the closings.
