Since many of us are destined for a summer of socially distanced outdoor dinners with our immediate family, investing in a proper grill for unforgettable BBQs is of utmost importance. That doesn’t, however, mean that we need to go out and spend our entire stimulus check on a propane model with all the bells and whistles.

In fact, PureWow’s senior podcast producer, Matt Bogart believes this under-$200, no-frills Weber charcoal grill is all you need to have the greatest summer ever (yes, even in social isolation). We’ll let him explain.

“Call it Americana. Call it nostalgia, but it isn’t summer until you get that whiff of charcoal briquets in the air,” Bogart says, admitting than he’s a fan of charcoal over propane. “With a surface area of 22 inches, this Weber grill can comfortably cook enough food for a medium-sized family. And it’s the greatest charcoal grill you can buy for under $200. ”

This Portable Grill Is the Easiest Way to Cook With Charcoal in the Outdoors Don’t let quarantine stop you from celebrating a special birthday! Food stylist Rishon shares some pro tips on how you can make a classic birthday cake at home, with whatever you have in the pantry.

We’ll interject here to add that this very grill was one of LongHorn Steakhouse Executive Chef Michael Senich’s picks for the best grills on the market. The chef is a fan of this affordable model due to its ample size and because “[i]t has a unique one-touch cleaning system for easy clean-up and comes with a 10-year warranty.”

Now, back to Bogart: “If you grow tired of just grilling with charcoal, you can also add in chunks of wood, which will give your meat and veggies a wonderful accent of smoke. It’s like perfume for your palette. Don’t get it twisted though, this grill can do it all. You can grill burgers, chicken and fish or barbeque/smoke meats. And with a few attachments you can even make pizza (yes, including Neopolitan), make rotisserie chicken, Al Pastor and more!”

The Weber grill is made with a porcelain-enameled lid and bowl that’s rugged enough to last for years to come. It even includes a built-in grill thermometer so you never have to guess when it reaches optimal grilling temperature, and a removable ash catcher to keep your patio from looking like a soot pit. More practically, it has two all-weather wheels to make relocating it a breeze. It also comes in three colors: glossy black, copper and deep green, the latter of which blends in nicely with the greenery in the backyard.

OK, we're convinced. BRB while we run out and grab this highly praised grill before summer really ramps up.
