Food Chipotle Is Now Wrapping Their Burritos In Gold Foil
How Chipotle's chief people officer steered the chain through a tumultuous year by focusing on employee well-being
Marissa Andrada led the fast-food chain in investing heavily in employee education and development. She's championed DEI initiatives especially. When Andrada, now the chief diversity, inclusion, and people officer at Chipotle, was growing up, her parents encouraged her to pursue a career in medicine. But Andrada was more inclined toward something sociological - people-watching is still a favorite pastime.
Eating atmay not be a fancy dine out for you, but if you plan on heading there anytime soon, it may feel much fancier. Don't think it's because they're again, though. This time, customers are getting the luxe treatment due to the "new" packaging for the chain's beloved burritos.
For a limited-time only and at participating Chipotle locations, guests will now be receiving their burritos in gold foil instead of the traditional silver foil that we're used to seeing. How fancy!
What's the reason behind this change, you ask? Well, it's because Chipotle is celebrating the American athletes who are going for the gold in Tokyo for this year's Olympics. The fast-food restaurant is also using it as a way to get fans to cheer on Team USA for the big event. So while you may not be able to compete for your own gold medal over the course of the next few weeks, you can sure take home your own gold when you pick up a burrito from your nearest location.
