Were bagels invented for teething?
A few weeks ago, a friend told me about meeting a baby who was using a bagel for a teething ring. Upon further investigation, it turned out to be a special bagel, a teething bagel, made by New York Bagel in Detroit. © Photo: Iryna Petrenko (iStock by Getty Images) A baby holding a necklace of mini-bagels This set off a long-buried memory in my brain of reading about how bagels were invented to feed teething babies and how I once reported this fact to a coworker, who accused me of being sarcastic.

Prime Day 2021: Best deals on air fryers from Ninja, Dash and more
Here are some of the best deals on air fryers from major kitchenware brands like Ninja, Dash, Oster, COSORI and more.Amazon Prime Day 2021 is finally here. During the Prime Day sales event, Prime members can take advantage of sitewide savings in categories ranging from tech and kitchenware to clothing and skin care. Amazon created the annual event in 2015 — and after six years, it’s grown so big that several other retailers are now hosting their own counter deals, including Target, Walmart, Wayfair, Kohl’s, Best Buy and Bed Bath & Beyond.
One way of doing so? Walmart is rolling out a new version of its app with universal search and checkout, according to Grocery Dive. This means that customers can finally purchase groceries and electronics all in one transaction moving forward.
Shoppers previously had two Walmart apps on their phone—an orange one for grocery purchases and a blue one for other kinds of purchases. Before the retailer merged the two apps into one, customers had to choose between either store pickup and delivery or shipping from Walmart.com. This process revealed Walmart's internal organization to customers, but the chain didn't want its org chart on full display.
© Provided by Eat This, Not That! Walmart app "We always say to ourselves internally we never want to show our customer our org chart. And what the blue app and the orange app is, it pretty clearly showed you the org chart . . . so we want to take that visibility away from the customer and be there for anything that they need from us," John Furner, the president and CEO the chain's U.S. business, said.
