Kim Kardashian West has long been open about her experience with psoriasis. Last year, she shared that seaweed-based beauty products were helping to soothe her flaky, irritated skin. But the search apparently continued for a treatment that truly works. According to a new post on her app, it seems as though Kardashian West has finally found it.

"The disease is something I have learned to live with, but there are still times when I can feel insecure about it — especially on red carpets or at a photo shoot," she writes. "There isn't a cure for psoriasis, but there are treatments that can help ease the symptoms."

Homemade Dog Treats That You Can Eat Too

Homemade Dog Treats That You Can Eat Too Some people would say I have an unhealthy obsession with my dog. So, the other day, when I was looking at dog accessories on Amazon, I came across these adorable baking molds. Curious about the science (and safety) behind the "life-changing" device, we asked the experts. "This is a prescription device," Howard Sobel, a New York City dermatologist, tells Allure. "You need to be under the care of a physician to obtain it."

Kim K. Says This Device Is Clearing Her Psoriasis . Kim Kardashian West has publicly battled chronic psoriasis since 2010, and has proven that she 's willing to try almost anything to treat Now, she explained, she 's found an effective treatment in the Clarify Medical Home Phototherapy System.

The Clarify Home Light Therapy System uses "ultraviolet light B, which is the wavelength of light found in sunlight and can be an effective treatment for psoriasis," says Alan Parks, a dermatologist and the founder of Dermstore. But, adds Sobel, there are different protocols for every patient. "The standard protocol for psoriasis patients most often requires a trip to the doctor's office for either light treatments or cortisone injections," he says.

For the Clarify, Sobel recommends using it for 20 minutes, three times per week for optimal results. However, keep in mind that the device comes with a $999 price tag, which isn't exactly budget-friendly. That's why Parks also recommends a few other options for treating the skin condition, such as oral medication Otezla and prescription treatments Humira, Taltz, and Cosentyx.

But before you even consider spending money on a fancy treatment just because it worked for Kim Kardashian, make an appointment with your dermatologist to find the right psoriasis treatment for you. Until then, Kim K. is here for you.
