Boston Red Sox fans are fired up right now after the club took down Tampa Bay on Wednesday and completed a three-game sweep.
After suffering three consecutive losses to begin the 2021 campaign, fans began to go into a bit of a panic mode. With the team finishing in dead last of the AL East standings last season, could the same be on the way?
Fortunately, Boston was able to bounce back in a big way, as its 9-2 win on Wednesday gave them a three-game sweep over the Tampa Bay Rays. It was much needed for skipper Alex Cora, with the offense really standing out here.

In the tweet above, the stat that no question jumps off the page has to be the run differential. Boston outscored Tampa Bay 26-9 over the last three contests. With the team averaging nearly nine runs per game, that's of course going to bring a smile to Cora's face.
On Wednesday to close out the series, Boston indeed came away with a 9-2 win. In the victory, designated hitter Christian Vazquez had himself quite the afternoon, as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, highlighted by a 2-run homer in the bottom of the fourth.added a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth too, which was great to see.
Looking forward to the rest of the campaign, Boston will of course need its sluggers to stay hot and record some timely hits. This was the case from start to finish in the series against the Rays. For the team to wipe away the first three losses and bounce back so quickly is something that has folks around the city jacked up. Let's see if they can keep the hot bats going.
