In a statement issued Thursday, Magnolia's president Allison Page said: "After speaking with homeowners as well as Candis and Andy Meredith regarding renovation projects for Home Work, and hearing a mix of both positive and negative experiences, we do not believe there was ill or malicious intent. Earlier this year, several homeowners shared their stories. They reported fraudulent promises, financial disarray, and unsafe (even illegal) labor conditions at their home renovations, which were all filmed for the show. The Merediths owned up to some of their shortcomings in an Instagram post, including sometimes being “left with outstanding balances” and projects taking longer than expected. Some clients who have had good experiences on the show have also shared their stories.
