Titled “Call of Corona: Micro Warfare,” the game launched Friday on Steam, the game puts you in the body of a microscopic soldier that’s sent into the body of a famous actor in order to save everyone in Hollywood. However, while the game is pure fun as it lets you kill the virus in a virtual setting, your efforts won’t be for naught because proceeds of the game will go to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) funds in helping fight the actual battle against COVID-19 in the real world.

According to Max Ward, the game’s creator, it could be a cathartic way for people who want to “get back” at the virus. Ward reportedly designed the game along with his wife Carmen Fortea, alongside Bea Herdon and Carmen Navarro, their two flatmates.

“We all had an abundant amount of free time all of a sudden, and so we got the idea to make a video game,” Ward said.

Since the game’s launch, more than 50 people have already downloaded the game, raising over $200 for WHO. Per Ward, he hopes to raise $1,000 or more as the game grows in popularity.
