  • Beatrice's decision to wear the Queen's gown was a last minute request.

Princess Beatrice may not have had the massive royal wedding that she wanted to (thanks, coronavirus), but hey—at least she was finally able to tie the knot with her now-hubby, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi since England's lockdown period finally lifted! Based off the pictures that Edoardo and Princess Eugenie shared to their Instagram, the ceremony looked gorgeous. But even more gorgeous? Beatrice's wedding dress, which she actually borrowed from Queen Elizabeth!

Some of those items have been so tempting that they're already taking over Amazon's bestsellers list.

According to a People source, Beatrice had a change of heart ahead of her wedding and “made a request [to borrow one from the Queen], and that was kindly granted—and it looked amazing! It was touching for the both of them.” FYI, the Queen first wore the gown to the premiere of Lawrence of Arabia in London in 1962 (pictured below), but the dress Beatrice wore isn't exactly same. Based on pictures of the original gown, Beatrice made a few additions and alterations (sheer sleeves and satin trimmings) to make the dress unique to her.

And to make things even more special, Beatrice also wore the same tiara that the Queen wore when she married Prince Philip in 1947. “Beatrice talks about her grandmother often, and it’s clear there’s a strong bond there—the dress and the tiara could not have been more perfect,” a second source told People.

Beatrice's dress wasn't the only last minute thing that happened, though. She and Edoardo's wedding came together in record time, and was allegedly planned in just two (2) weeks, which...how TF even.

“They swung into action and brought it all together in two weeks, which is quite extraordinary,” a friend of the couple said. “Beatrice was so excited about it all, and I think they just jumped at the chance when the ban was removed. They were both desperate for it to happen. They wanted everything to be very classic and elegant; small but refined. It felt romantic and lovely.”

Congrats to these lovely newlyweds!

When Will Princess Charlotte Wear Her First Tiara? .
The UK's youngest princess may have to wait a while before sporting a royal headpiece. Here are all the options for the little princess's first tiara moment. Prior to every royal wedding exists an age-old guessing game: which tiara will the bride wear? However, while most royal women will make their first tiara-wearing appearance at their weddings, the rules are a bit different for those born into the direct line of succession.
