Selena Gomez's Rare Beauty Just Launched a $100 Million Mental Health Initiative
When Selena Gomez announced the upcoming launch of her brand Rare Beauty back in February, her main goal was to change the conversation around beauty as it relates to mental health and self-acceptance, and on July 22, the singer showed just how committed she is to achieving that. Gomez celebrated her 28th birthday this year by sharing news that Rare Beauty is launching the Rare Impact Fund, an effort to raise $100 million for mental health services for underserved communities over the next 10 years. Once Rare Beauty officially launches, one percent of all product sales, as well as funds raised from partners, will be donated to the fund.
Rare Beauty will launch with an impressive 48 shades of foundation and concealer, according to Gomez. "It’s all very clean and easy. I wanted people to feel safe," she adds.
Rare Beauty is slated to launch this summer in Sephora stores.

If Rare Beauty sounds familiar, that's because Gomez just released a song called "Rare" as well. We don't know more about the products yet, but the star has been wearing bright and bold lipsticks in shades of pink, red, and maroon on recent red carpets and television appearances. Gomez has likely been walking around wearing Rare Beauty for months, and her fans won't have to wait much longer to try it themselves.

Gomez is the latest celebrity to join the beauty world, following Rihanna's Fenty Beauty, Lady Gaga's Haus Beauty, Jennifer Lopez's line with Inglot Cosmetics, and Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian's namesake brands.
This isn't the actress and singer's first foray into beauty, though. Back in 2011, she had fans vote on what would ultimately become Selena Gomez Eau de Parfum. "I want something that's very romantic. I want something that is very sweet but at the same time very mature," she told Racked at the time. The winning scent included a fruity raspberry top note, freesia in the middle, and vanilla in the base.
Gomez also has an extensive list of fashion partnerships under her belt. She launched a clothing line dream Out Loud at K-mart stores in 2010. Gomez is currently the face of Coach and collaborated with the brand on accessories and a ready-to-wear collection in 2018. She's also currently the face of athletic brand Puma and is working with them on a line of apparel, shoes and accessories.
Selena Gomez Showed Off A Quick Glimpse Of Her Fridge And Girl's Got A HUGE Bottle Of Ranch
Celebs: They're just like us, etc., etc.Really, there are a few things of note going on here, the first of which is that Selena rehydrates just like the rest of us: with lots and lots of blue and red Gatorade. Secondly, she opts for classy, higher-end seltzers like Spindrift and Pellegrino. Thirdly, there are quite a few things she's stocked up on for the quar. Those things are, in no particular order, ice cream, yogurt, orange juice, and ranch.
Gomez hasn't commented on the new beauty line, but we'll update this post when we know more about the launch date, products, prices, and where to shop.

Then: Hilary Duff
Butterfly clips, scrunchies, all the looks of our tweenage fashion dreams: Hilary Duff won us over as Lizzie McGuire in the early 2000s. From the super expensive bedazzled jeans she bought without her mom's permission to her matching bandanas and leather jackets, the teen's Disney show was filled with plenty of must-copy fashion moments—but her off-screen outfits were just as defining.
-
Now: Hilary Duff
Currently the star of TV Land's Younger, Duff's style has come a long way from her Lizzie McGuire days. While the actress still favors trend-forward ensembles, she's managed to perfect the effortlessly chic West Coast look over the years.
-
Then: Raven Symone
Though starring on Disney's That's So Raven in the mid-aughts was hardly Raven Symone's introduction to television, the teen managed to capture all our attention with her eclectic and over-the-top fashion choices both on and off the screen. Colorful fur trim? Check. Endless bucket hats? Check. Crazy colorful animal prints? Of course. Raven helped pioneer Disney's more-is-more outlook on teen fashion.
-
Now: Raven Symone
And coming full circle, Raven returned to her Disney roots a decade later in the That's So Raven reboot, Raven's Home, which premiered in the summer of 2017. The actress has stuck to her eccentric fashion choices on the new show and in real life on the red carpet.

-
Now: The Jonas Brothers
A decade later, the boy band famously went their separate ways and came back together again with a brand new album in June 2019.
